Risk Disclosure

You can lose money
Trading in equities, futures, options, currencies, commodities and crypto-assets involves substantial risk. You can lose some or all of your capital, and with leveraged products such as futures, options and margin trading, losses can exceed the amount you put in.
What the regulator's data shows
SEBI's studies of individual traders in equity derivatives found that around 9 in 10 individual F&O traders made net losses in each of the years studied, and that losses were larger after transaction costs. SEBI's study of the equity cash segment found that more than 70% of individual intraday traders made losses. Read the studies on sebi.gov.in before trading derivatives.
Costs reduce returns
Brokerage, exchange charges, Securities Transaction Tax, GST, stamp duty and slippage are paid on every trade and can turn a small edge into a loss, especially for frequent traders.
Education is not a guarantee
Completing our lessons, using our tools or reading our materials does not make anyone a profitable trader. Paper-trade first, risk only money you can afford to lose, and consider speaking to a SEBI-registered investment adviser for personal advice.
Rules for Indian residents
Indian residents must follow FEMA and RBI rules, including restrictions on overseas forex and derivatives trading under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme. Crypto-asset gains are taxed at 30% with 1% TDS and losses cannot be set off. Check current rules before trading.
